MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – A two vehicle crash shut down a portion of eastbound I-94 and the southbound ramp to I-69 on Friday night which caused a massive back up.
There were social media reports indicating traffic on the eastbound side was backed up to at least Firekeepers Casino which is almost four miles west of the accident site.
The accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. WWMT-TV reports one person was killed and five others were taken the hospital and that according to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, the crash involved a semi and a SUV.
Eventually, one lane reopened to traffic but both lanes did not reopen until almost 11:00 p.m. due to the investigation of the crash which included an accident reconstruction.
