COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Sherwood woman turned herself in at the Branch County Jail Wednesday after charges were filed against her in connection with an alleged drunk driving crash December 11, 2018 in Sherwood Township that caused serious injuries to a pair of passengers.
A corrections officer at the county jail said a warrant signed last week named 35-year old Rachel Riehl as the driver of the car involved in the accident that happened on Oliverda Road.
Michigan State Police investigated the rollover crash and said two passengers who were not wearing seat belts were taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment.
The warrant said there were three children in the car between the ages of five and nine.
State Police were seeking three counts of child endangerment against Riehl in addition to a charge of OUIL causing serious injury.
Riehl was released from custody after posting a $35,000 bond. She is scheduled to be arraigned in Branch County District Court April 1, 2019.
