GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – The final winter sports champions in the state will be crowned Saturday witht he Michigan High School Athletic Association girls basketbalkl finals at At Van Noord Arena on the campus of Calvin College in Grand Rapids
Two of the match-ups are set, while the Division 1 and 2 finalists will be decided in the semifinals today.
DIVISION 1
Saginaw Heritage (23-2) vs Wayne Memorial (24-2) – Noon
Southfield A&T (23-1) vs Muskegon (21-4) – 2:00 p.m.
DIVISION 2
Freeland (23-2) vs Hamilton (25-0) – 5:30 p.m.
Haslett (19-6) vs Detroit Edison PSA (25-1) – 7:30 p.m.
DIVISION 3

Marshall High School boys basketball coach Doug Riegel has stepped down after three seasons. Riegel is retiring as a teacher and he indicted in a Battle Creek Enquirer story he wanted to spend more time with his family.
While he was coach of the Red Hawks, they won a pair of district titles as well as a Interstate 8 Conference title. This year’s team was eliminated by Haslett in the regional semifinals.
