BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – City Manager Brandon Mersman announced during Monday’s Bronson City Council meeting that the city was recently awarded a Michigan State Housing Development Authority grant which is designed to target home improvement work in specific neighborhoods.
The city’s application was for the Winona and Washington Street neighborhoods.
He also reported that home owners could get $7,500 in grant funds with no strings attached for home improvements. Anything over $7,500 would become a lein on the property for five years and would need to be paid back if the home was sold.
Mersman says these neighborhoods have several blighted homes desperate need of repair.
