UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City and the Union City Chamber of Commerce will once again host a Memorial Day Parade and a Cemetery Service to honor our nation’s fallen Veterans next Monday.
The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Union City High School parking lot.
The parade will extend through downtown Union City and ends at Riverside Cemetery.
There will be a pause at the North Broadway Street Bridge to allow for a ceremony to honor the Navy and Coast Guard.
The parade will pause again for wreath placement at the Civil War Memorial at the First Congregational Church.
Parade participants are being asked to arrive to the high school by 10:00 a.m. to ensure an orderly line up of parade units.
Kids on bicycles and others not wishing to walk the entire parade route can begin at the parking lot downtown next to The Serenity Center.
Besides the parade, there will be a bike decorating contest at the parking lot across from the library. Judging starts at 10:00 a.m. and bikes should be decorated in a Memorial Day theme with balloons, streamers, flags or other materials.
