DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – A section of Canfield Street near the Lodge Freeway in the city of Detroit has been re-named Willie Horton Drive in honor of the Tigers legend.
Horton signed with Detroit as an 18-year-old out of Northwestern High School in 1961 and helped lead the team to the 1968 World Series championship. His number-23 was retired in 2000 and he remains a special assistant with the club.
