COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There will be a changing of the guard at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital during January 2020.
The hospital has announced that President Randy DeGroot will be retiring as of January 10, 2020. Dan Schewanke, who has been with ProMedica Health Systems for 30 years, will become the hospital President on New Year’s Day.
DeGroot is retiring after being with the hospital since 1995. He began as the Chief Financial Officer at the Community Health Center of Branch County before becoming the President and Chief Executive Officer of the hospital in 1999.
ProMedica took over control of the hospital January 1t, 2018 as the facility transitioned from a standalone county hospital to being a member of a large health system.
DeGroot plans to travel, volunteer, fish and spend time with his family during his retirement.
Schewanke has held a variety of roles with ProMedica. Most recently, he was the President of ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
