BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Union City claimed the new traveling trophy called “The Shield” as they defeated Branch County rival Bronson 28-23 in a game that featured seven lead changes. The Chargers picked up their first victory of the season. Union City is 1-7 while the Vikings drop to 0-8. Union City scored the winning touchdown on a 60 yard pass with about a minute to play.
Garett Eggleston’s 53 yard touchdown with 6:40 left in the game proved to be the winning score as Jonesville defeated Quincy 30-22 which clinches a post season berth for the Comets. Evan Coon scored three touchdowns for the Orioles and rushed for 171 yards. Quincy dropped to 3-5 overall and finished 3-4 in the Big 8.
