UNION CITY, CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City High School equestrian team won the M.I.H.A. District 15 D Division Championship at the Branch County Fairgrounds this past weekend.
Union City High School junior Rachel Bowers showed two horses, Bud and Sandy and earned 272 points over the three meets.
This is the third year in a row she has won either champion or reserve champion for the D division.
Union City is coached by Shelley Holt.
The reserve champion was a tie between Athens and Portage Central High Schools.
All three teams will go on to compete at the M.I.H.A. Region A Championship Meet in Berrien Springs September 28-29, 2019.
