BRANCH COUNTY, MI. – (WTVB) – If this had been a normal school year, this week would have been Spring Break in Branch County schools.
Students and teachers would have been using this week to take a breath and get ready for the final weeks of the school year. But the COVID-19 pandemic has changed our world.
The executive order issued by Governor Whitmer which closed K-12 buildings also indicated that school districts in Michigan are to develop plans to provide students opportunities to learn remotely instead of utilizing face-to face learning.
All of the Branch County districts are in the process of putting together the details of what remote learning will look like after Spring Break is over.
Bronson Community Schools Superintendent Steve Wilson is asking for people to be patient as administrators formulate their plans.
Quincy Community Schools Superintendent Marc Kramer says this new model will be different than being in class and will require some adjustments.
He went to say in a post on the district’s Facebook page that the district looks forward to partnering with parents, students, and community to make this work.
Kramer asked everybody in the district to stay tuned to their Facebook page, Website and School Messenger system for more details.
