COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A combination if snowy and icy roads, along with excessive illness, has forced the closing of all Branch County area schools Thursday.
Coldwater, Quincy, Tekonsha, Union City, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School, and St. Mary’s Assumption School in Bronson are all closed because of the roads.
Bronson Community Schools and Pansophia Academy are closed both Thursday and Friday due to flu and flu-like illnesses among staff and students.
According to the National Weather Service Northern Indiana office, pPeriods of light snow and freezing drizzle will taper off through the day. Additional snow accumulations will be light (1” or less) with greatest chance for accumulations in northwest Indiana and far southwest Michigan.
Temperatures will only climb slightly, reaching the upper 20’s to around 30.
A Winter Weather Advisory for Branch County remains in effect until 10:00 a.m. Thursday.
