PARMA, MI (WTVB) – Both of the Coldwater High School basketball teams will be taking winning streaks into Friday night’s girls/boys varsity doubleheader at Parma Western. Both teams will also be looking for revenge after Western swept the Cardinals at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium on January tenth.
Thanks to a four game winning streak, the Coldwater girls are 8-7 overall and 6-3 in the Interstate 8 which leaves them two games behind conference co-leaders Harper Creek and Western.
The Coldwater boys have a three game winning streak and are 7-1 since they lost to Western 55-53 last month. They are tied for first in the Interstate 8 with Pennfield at 7-2 with Western one game back.

All of the other Branch County teams will be home Friday night In Big Eight Conference boys and girls doubleheaders. Quincy will be hosting Homer, Bronson will take on Springport and Union City battles Reading. The Union City Hall of Fame ceremonies will take place in between games.
In boys basketball only, Tekonsha will be at Waldron.

In other basketball on Thursday night, St. Mary’s Assumption of Bronson defeated the Cougars of St. Charles 21-19. St. Mary’s scored a three pointer with less than a minute to go to take the lead. Alex Richards led St. Charles with seven points, The team from St. Mary’s have won both regular season games with St. Charles and the teams hope to meet again in the league tournament on February 29th in Bronson. The Cougars are now 3-2 on the season with their next game on Thursday in Coldwater against Trinity Lutheran.
