EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan High School Athletic Association Girls Basketball District pairings have been announced. Under a seeding format which is being used for the first time, the top two seeds are in opposite brackets.
Coldwater got a bye in the opening round of the Division One Districts at Gull Lake. The Cardinals will play either top seeded Battle Creek Lakeview or Gull Lake in the second semifinal Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m..
District top seed Battle Creek Central will face Kalamazoo Loy Norrix in the opening round with the winning facing Sturgis in the semifinals. The district title game will be on March 6.
Quincy and Bronson are the top two seeds for the Division Three Districts in Bronson. The host Vikings will face Jonesville in the opening game of the districts at 5:30 p.m. March 2, followed by top-seeded Quincy taking on Reading in the second game.
The Wednesday semifinals starting at 5:30 p.m. will have the Bronson-Jonesville winner facing Union City with the Quincy-Reading winner taking on Homer. The finals on March 6 will start at 6:00 p.m..
