COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – More facts may come out next week in the stabbing death of a Texas man last month at a Coldwater motel.
The Branch County District Court preliminary examination for 33-year-old Arial Moreira-Gonzalez of Miami, Florida, who is facing an open murder charge in the stabbing, was originally scheduled to take yesterday, but has now been pushed back until next Wednesday, July 22.
Moreira-Gonzalez is being held without bond in the Branch County Jail.
Police were called to the Quality Inn of Coldwater at about 3:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, where they found 35-year-old Juan Uresti-Rodriguez, who had been stabbed. He was later pronounced dead.
Moreira-Gonzalez was apprehended a short time later by Michigan State Police on U.S. 12 on the west side of Quincy after witnesses provided police with a description of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving.
Police say the stabbing took place after there was apparently drinking and an argument between the two men.
