COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Nine downtown Coldwater businesses will be getting some financial assistance after the Coldwater Downtown Development Authority was awarded a $35,000 grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Match on Main COVID-19 Response Program.
Recipients of the DDA’s Match on Main grant include Pure Envee Day Spa, Total E. Clips, Rachel’s Salon and Spa, Craft Out Loud!, Integrity Apparel, Kiess Jewelry, Leudder’s, The Corona Smoke Shop, and Museum Gallery.
The DDA anticipates being able to disburse grant funds by the end of June or early July.
Match on Main provides funding to local downtown management organizations state-wide to administer to eligible small businesses located in traditional commercial districts.
The $35,000 grant will support all nine businesses who applied to the DDA in May. Awards to individual businesses are between $2,000 to $10,000.
Prior to getting the funds, the DDA solicited applications from local downtown businesses over five days. That gave City staff two days to score applications before presenting results to the DDA during its regular meeting of May 27.
The final application to Match on Main was submitted two days later and included every business who applied to the DDA’s request for submissions.
