COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man has been charged with three counts in connection with an alleged robbery at a local apartment on June 13.
39-year-old Justin Posante was arraigned Monday in Branch County District Court on charges of armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and larceny from a person.
He is also facing a possession of methamphetamine charge in a separate case.
According to police and court documents, Posante was one of two suspects involved in the alleged robbery which was investigated by Coldwater Police and the Michigan State Police.
The alleged victim was threatened with a knife and choked before his wallet and items from his apartment were stolen.
According to the Michigan Department of Corrections website, Posante was convicted in 2003 for attempted uttering and publishing and in 2017 for possession of a controlled substance.
His bond was set at $100,000 during Monday’s arraignment. He is scheduled to be back in court on July 15.
