FONTANA, CA (WTVB) – Alex Bowman is going home with the second win of his NASCAR career.
Bowman opened a big lead on the field to take home the win at the Auto Club 400 in Fontana Sunday. Bowman picked up the first win of the season for Hendrick Motorsports.
Kyle Busch finished in second while Kurt Busch took third. Chase Elliott and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top five.
Jimmie Johnson finished in seventh in his final race in California. There was a five-wide salute to Johnson during the pace lap. The seven-time champion is retiring following the season.
