LANSING, MI (WTVB) – As of Wednesday, March 25, the state’s official COVID-19 tracking website reports that 2,295 individuals have tested positive for the acute respiratory illness in Michigan.
43 Michigan residents have died from COVID-19, after state health officials confirmed the first death from the illness back on March 10. 21 of those deaths are in Wayne County alone.
Two of the eight most recent deaths in the city of Detroit include a 911 dispatcher and a captain with the homicide department at the Detroit Police Department. Detroit has 563 positive cases just in the city.
There are currently no reported cases in Branch County. Two new cases were reported in Calhoun County, bringing the number of cases in that county up to six.
Hillsdale County now has two cases, as the second one was reported Wednesday morning.
On Monday Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced a “Stay Home, Stay Safe” executive order.
