EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – As if the build-up for Saturday’s huge game between Michigan and Michigan State couldn’t get any bigger, an act of vandalism may have done just that. The statue of former Spartans basketball star Magic Johnson on the Michigan State campus has been defamed with yellow paint, featuring an “M” along with the words “BEAT STATE”.
It’s actually the Big House in Ann Arbor that’s hosting the Big 10 showdown between the seventh-ranked Spartans and the 12th-ranked Wolverines, who are coming off three straight shutouts under first-year coach Jim Harbaugh.
Also tomorrow, in the MAC, Western Michigan is at Ohio University while under the lights, #14 Notre Dame hosts USC. And our radio coverage of Grand Valley State football continues Saturday with the Lakers playing at home against Michigan Tech with the broadcast on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 beginning Saturday night at 6 p.m.
Last night, number-16 Stanford rolled past visiting UCLA, beating the 18th ranked Bruins 56-35.
