BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Five new members of the Bronson High School Hall of Fame will be formally inducted on Friday night.
Going into the Hall will be Anthony Allsbury, Rod Hathaway, Harry Laws, D. Lynn Mayer and Al Sosinski.
Allsbury graduated in 1998. He was an all-conference performer in basketball, baseball and football. Allsbury later played football at Western Michigan University where he was an all-Mid American Conference performer for two years and was also an honorable mention All American.
Hathaway graduated in 1977. He played varsity basketball for four seasons and is the third all time leading scorer. Hathaway later played college basketball at Olivet.
Laws graduated in 1964. He served as a full time pediatrician in the Air Force. After retirement from the military, Laws worked in the pharmaceutical business and developed drugs for children.
Mayer graduated in 1961. He was on the baseball, basketball and track teams before starting Great Lakes Glads in 1971 which has been the worlds largest gladiola cut flowers producer since 1980. Mayer has also served on numerous boards and commissions in Branch County.
Sosinski graduated in 1970. He later taught for 22 years at Bronson High School and was the wrestling coach for 30 years. His wrestling teams won 475 matches which included 12 conference championships, 15 district titles and nine regional crowns.
