SAND CREEK, MI (WTVB) -In high school baseball, Bronson won the Sand Creek Invitational on Saturday as they defeated Lenawee Christian 8-0 and the host team 4-2.
Kameron Haviland and Brett Sikorski were the winning pitchers and they both helped their own causes. Haviland had a homer and five RBI’s against Lenawee Christian. He and Brenden Bell both had three hits.
Meanwhile, Sikorski had three hits against Sand Creek while Bryce Withington had two RBI’s. Bronson is now 20-6.
—GIRLS SOFTBALL—
Quincy went 2-1 and finished second at the Ann Arbor Skyline Invitational Saturday. The Orioles defeated Dearborn 12-3 as Hannah Economou had four hits, Nicole Jodway had three hits and Megan Kirt had three RBI’s. They then defeated Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 15-0 as Economou had three hits while Taylor Todd and Makayla Signor both had two RBI’s. The Orioles then lost to Lapeer in the finals 9-3.
Zoe Asseltine drove in two runs while Economou and Katie Newberry each had two hits. Quincy now has a record of 18-12.
Bronson went 0-3 at the St. Joseph Invitational. They lost to the host school 11-9, to Stevensville-Lakeshore 4-0 and to Coloma 4-3. Lakeshore’s pitcher threw a no hitter against Bronson. Payton Robinson homered and had three RBI’s against St. Joe while Kiera Lasky belted a homer and had three hits against Coloma.
The three losses dropped the Vikings record to 15-11.
