BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson’ High School baseball team made a successful debut in the Big Eight Conference as they swept Union City in a doubleheader by scores of 12-2 and 12-0.
The highlight of the doubleheader sweep for the Vikings was Brett Sikorski’s second career no-hitter in the nightcap. Sikorski struck out nine in the five inning contest. He was backed by a 14-hit attack. Ethan Cossairt had three hits including a double and a triple. Sikorski, Brendan Bell and Hudson Wotta all drove in two runs.
Cossairt was the winning pitcher in the opener as he struck out seven. Kameron Haviland had two hits including a double and two RBI’s. Bronson is now 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big Eight.
Quincy dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Jonesville 11-0 and 9-0.
—GIRLS SOFTBALL—
Bronson won the first game of a scheduled doubleheader with Union City 11-10. The second game was suspended by darkness in the last of the sixth with Union City leading 12-10. It was not known Tuesday night if the game will be finished at a later date.
Aubrey Ballou was the winning pitcher for Bronson in the opener. Araceli Hernandez had three singles and two RBI’s for the Vikings. Payton Robinson and Dakoda Kline both had two RBI’s for Bronson. Kaitlyn Czajkowski had two RBI’s in the second game.
Quincy swept Jonesville 7-6 and 8-5 in a Big Eight Conference doubleheader. Kelsey Mainstone was the winning pitcher in the second game as she struck out six. Mickala Signor led the Orioles with four hits including two doubles and three RBI’s. Mainstone helped her own cause with three hits and three RBI’s.

Schoolcraft 172, Bronson 208 (played on the back nine at the Coldwater Golf Course)
Brandon Hyska led the Vikings with a 46. Schoolcraft’s Parker Lawrence was the medalist with a 37.

Three Rivers 6, Bronson 2
The Coldwater JV girls tennis team defeated Adrian 7-4. Winning for Coldwater were the following doubles teams: Emily Mcindoe/Shelby Taber, Julissa Chavez/Nayeli Savado, Kera Volkmer/Karolina Taranko, Veronica Arroyo/Andrea Compo, Alexis Knapp/Raginna Kadima, Kelly Warner/Elloree Madden, Bryann Niedwiacki/Victoria Hammond.
The Coldwater varsity girls tennis team defeated Adrian in a scrimmage 7-1.
In Junior Varsity soccer, Coldwater fell at Grand Ledge 2-0.
