COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater High School’s Jamie Wellet has been selected as a 2017-18 Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Outstanding Senior Student Athlete Award winner.
The award is given to senior athletes who have played basketball at their school for all four years and have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.80.
Wellet currently has a GPA of 4.207.
She was promoted to the varsity team toward the end of her freshman year and has been a three year starter for the Lady Cardinals. She has served as a varsity captain during both her junior and senior seasons.
Coach Ken Smoker says Wellet has been the ultimate team player for the program.
She was named 2017-18 Interstate 8 All-Conference Honorable Mention by conference coaches and has been of the member of the Coldwater Daily Reporter’s Dream Team for each of the past three seasons.
Wellet, along with her twin sister Jasmine, will be attending Grand Rapids Community College in the fall, where they will both be members of the volleyball program.
