QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The weekend thaw in Branch County with readings in the lower 40’s ended last night when temperatures dropped back to below freezing and that created icy driving conditions that including at least one injury crash. It happened around 10:30 pm in Quincy Township, a car-tree accident on Jonesville Road near Clarendon Road. The Quincy Fire Department responded to the scene. No serious injuries were reported.
Another collision that initially appeared to have injuries turned out to be a property damage accident that occurred around the same time on U.S. 12 on Coldwater’s west side near Willow Lane.
Additional slide offs have been reported today at a handful of locations in the county as a combination of very lite snow and fog made for on-going slippery stretches of roadway.
