TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) – Authorities say it appears that very icy road conditions were a factor this morning in a two vehicle accident on Old 27 in Tekonsha Township where one of the drivers was killed. Calhoun County deputies arrived at the scene just north of the Branch County line around 5:15 am and found the fatal victim pinned behind the wheel of his Chevy 4 door car.
Deputies say the 46-year old man from Tekonsha was southbound and lost control with his car spinning into the northbound lane where it collided with a Ford F250 pickup truck. The pickup driver suffered only minor injuries. No names have been released.
The crash remains under investigation by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
