COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Three area marijuana dispensaries in Coldwater, Quincy and Reading have agreed to pay a total of $33,000 in fines in order to settle outstanding regulatory complaints.
According to consent orders released by the Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency, the businesses resolved the infractions directly through agreements with state regulators.
The largest portion of the financial penalty stems from the former operator of Joyology medical marijuana dispensaries, which previously maintained storefront locations in both Quincy and Reading.
The former Joyology operator agreed to a hefty $30,000 fine to address state regulatory violations that date back to 2022.
While the consent orders finalized the penalties for the Joyology locations aloong with Coldwater-based Highwire Farms LLC who was penalized $3,000 for failing to disclose updates concerning its parent company, ownership structure, and corporate members.
Following a missed administrative hearing, a default order confirmed the violations, to reach the $33,000 total.
The settlements effectively close out the multi-year regulatory complaints against the area businesses.
