COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With Community Action’s annual Walk for Warmth coming up this Saturday across the state of Michigan, some Branch County businesses will be helping the effort locally to raise money for emergency heating assistance. McDonald’s of Branch County is the official sponsor of Ken Delaney’s Walk Across Branch County, the 17 mile walk from the McDonald’s in Bronson to the McDonald’s in Quincy this Thursday, beginning at 8 am. Ken will also be broadcasting from the Coldwater McDonald’s during the lunch hour Wednesday and taking donations.
Amerigas in Coldwater is acting as an official drop-off location for donations this week, and is also donating $500 in propane to Community Action for heating assistance. Plus on Thursday Amerigas will be offering barbeque tank fill-ups for just $10.
A total of 36 Community Action agencies around the state are holding Walk for Warmth events this Saturday, including 6 in Branch, Barry, Calhoun, and St Joseph counties. The goal for Community Action of South Central Michigan is $50,000.
