COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – You can now add another February day in 2015 to the weather record books for Coldwater. Monday’s low of 11 degrees below zero broke the previous record low temperature for February 23rd which was set back in 1907 when the mercury dipped to 7 degrees below zero.
Gusty southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph will cause some blowing snow today. Light snowfall is expected by later this afternoon, although accumulation amounts will remain light. The greatest impact will be from the blowing snow which will cause visibility issues and slick travel. That’s why there is a winter weather advisory in in effect for Coldwater and Branch County until ten o’clock tonight. In addition, wind chill values as low as minus 15 are possible today.
