COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – On April 25th, men in Branch County will take to the streets of downtown Coldwater in the Walk A Mile in Her Shoes event with proceeds to benefit the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The men’s march event hosts many sponsors, but two businesses have stepped up for the signature sponsorship levels of the “The Designer Shoe” for Southern Michigan Bank and Trust and “The Platform” for McDonald’s.
“We are so appreciative of businesses who step up and support our mission of educating the public about domestic violence and sexual assault and helping survivors,” said Kim Hemker executive director of the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Not only do these businesses make significant donations to the help support the cause, they also are involved by walking a mile in her shoes and for the last four years, McDonald’s has also sponsored the 5K run that happens before the walk and hosts a annual Domestic Violence Awareness Day in October.

The registration for Walk A Mile in Her Shoes Registration will be held from 7:30- 10:00 a.m. with the kick off presentation at 10:15 a.m. and the walk at 10:30 a.m. at the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center located in downtown Coldwater. The 5K chip-time run kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with a pancake breakfast, BBQ Chicken lunch, dog walk, kids activities, silent auction and more.
Since the event began in 2011 the event has raised $107,600 for social change in the Branch County community.
