COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The jobless numbers in Michigan fell again in March to 5.6% statewide, which is close to the national average and a far cry from double digit numbers just a few years ago during the Great Recession. Economists will tell you that the comeback in the auto industry is responsible for most of the recovery. They say while there are fewer people looking, there are more jobs this March than last March.
Local employment numbers for Branch County for March will be released later this month. The February number for the county was 5.4%.
