COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Clemens Food Group pork processing plant project has been selected by the National Development Council as a semifinalist for the NDC Academy 2015 Awards, which recognizes the top economic and community development projects in the nation. The Clemens project is a semifinalist in the Job Creation category. The nomination documentation described the collaboration between many local, state, and regional stakeholders over the past three years to get the project jump-started. Construction of the facility, which is expected to create 810 jobs, is scheduled to begin at the end of June.
Branch County Economic Growth Alliance Executive Director Lisa Miller will represent Coldwater at the NDC Academy Awards, which will be presented on Thursday in Washington.
