COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County area had a very wet start to the weekend with the showers that began Friday night and continued through much of Saturday afternoon prompting a flash flood warning that was issued just after 9 a.m. Saturday and remained in effect until 1:15 p.m. Monday. The heaviest rains appear to have hit to the east and south of Branch County.
The National Weather Service said emergency management and trained spotters reported widespread flooding across much of the area covered by the warning in Southwest Michigan, Northeastern Indiana and Northwestern Ohio with two to five inches of rain falling on Saturday.
Branch County 911 Central Dispatch reported no road closings in the county over the weekend because of the heavy rains.
