BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Three members of this year’s Bronson high school softball team that finished runner-up in the MHSAA Division 3 tournament finals have been named to the Division Three All- State First team. The Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association selected seniors Skyler Sobeski and Kinslea Blouin and junior Kelsey Robinson for the All-State honors. Sobeski made All-State first team all four years of her softball career at Bronson while Blouin last year was honorable mention All-State. The Lady Vikings advanced to the state championship game for the first time and finished with a 37-8 record.
Bronson coach Becky Gray on Saturday was named All-Area Softball Coach of the Year by the Battle Creek Enquirer while Sobeski, Blouin, and Robinson were picked for the Enquirer’s All-Area team as were Coldwater’s Michaela Gillette, Payton Watson, and Jamie Wellet along with Union City’s Haley Harty and Skyler Herman.
In Mickey Mantle summer league baseball, Coldwater swept a doubleheader last Thursday at Jonesville 5-2 and 6-0, improving the Redbirds record to 19-4. Tonight, it’s Coldwater at Hudson.
