COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A $15.6 million dollar apartment complex project for the northeast side of Coldwater was approved last night by the Coldwater City Planning Commission. The Sunset Meadows Apartments were cleared for construction following a public hearing and a site plan review with the Planning Commission then voting 8-0 last night in favor of the project.
Developer Chad Bush spoke on behalf of the project as one of the partners with Mike Thompson. The complex at the corner of Carriage Circle and Anderson Drive just northeast of the Willowbrook Plaza will have 132 one bedroom units and 258 two bedroom units. Sunset Meadows will have garages available for rent. A clubhouse, playground and outdoor pool are also proposed.
The 20 acre site was originally approved as a single family residential and condominium project and adjacent apartment complex. However, only two single family homes were built with one of them since purchased by the developers and will be demolished for the new project with the other privately owned residence to remain.
