COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Monday night in Mickey Mantle Summer League baseball, Coldwater swept a doubleheader at home over Hudson, winning the pair of five inning games 5-0 and 5-2. Coldwater was supposed to be on the road for the twin bill but a scheduling conflict at Hudson Field had the Redbirds host the games instead.
In the opener, Austin Butler tossed a 2-hit shutout and he helped his own cause with a double and a single and 2 RBI’s. Eric Bach added a double and a single while Sean Printke had an RBI single.
In the nightcap, Brady Snow picked up the victory on the mound, pitching the first 3 innings, allowing one run on 2 hits. Alex Everett went the final two innings, holding Hudson hitless the rest of the way. Mitchell Duda and Butler had RBI singles while Collin Torrey doubled and scored a run.
Coldwater improved its record to 21-4 and the Redbirds return to action tonight at home against Hillsdale.
