COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Education last night at its regular August meeting appointed Terry Boguth Superintendent of Coldwater Community Schools beginning tomorrow and continuing into June for the District’s 2015-2016 academic year. Boguth, who right now is the district’s Chief Financial Officer, will remain CFO as she replaces current Superintendent Dr. Tina Kerr, who is leaving her post at the end of this month to take a new job starting September 1, 2015 with the Michigan Association of School Administrators.
Boguth has been CFO for Coldwater Schools since June of 2014 and previously had held the Superintendent’s post of the Coloma school system in Southwest Michigan for a dozen years beginning in 2002. She also was Superintendent of the Inkster School district and had been the Coldwater school district’s business manager from 1996 to 1998.
Kerr has been Coldwater school superintendent since 2010. In her resignation letter to the school board, Kerr said while she’s excited about the challenge that lies ahead for her, it will be difficult for her to leave Coldwater. She thanked the Coldwater School Board for what she said was their leadership and vision and added she is confident the district will continue to grow under the Board’s guidance.
