COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two high profile alleged sex crimes in Branch County are up for preliminary exams today in District Court with the suspects to possibly learn if their cases will be bound over for trial in Circuit Court. 77-year old Donald Williams of Coldwater was charged August 25, 2015 with 5 counts of using a computer to commit a crime and 5 counts of possession of child pornography. Williams also was named in a two count indecent exposure warrant.
Meanwhile, Carlo Sgambelluri the second, from West Branch and a native of Bronson, is facing criminal sexual conduct charges in addition to a computer crime count. The alleged victim was a 14-year old Coldwater boy who police say was assaulted by Sgambelluri in the man’s van in a west side city cemetery on September 1, 2015.
