COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A change is coming for the Branch County Friend of the Court. Longtime Director and Domestic Relations Referee Toni McAlhany is retiring at the end of next month. The Friend of the Court is part of the Circuit Court and Circuit Judge Bill O’Grady Thursday briefed county commissioners on the transition plans in the works.
O’Grady said they have had some other openings in the Friend of the Court and they are currently in the process of being filled. O’Grady told commissioners he’s looking forward to having the opportunity to select more members for the Friend of the Court team and move forward and hopefully be able to change some things over the next decade or so.
The Friend of the Court has the primary responsibility for enforcement of Circuit Court orders regarding custody, parenting time and the support of minor children.
