COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan State Police Post in Coldwater has set a target date of October 5, 2015 to move the operations to Marshall but the troopers will still be stationed in Coldwater with the same level of coverage for Branch County. Lt. Jim Coleman, Post Commander for Coldwater, said the post won’t be open to the public beginning next month as the operations shift is made to the new regional law enforcement center in Marshall where that facility will house the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, Marshall City Police and the State Police management team along with the Calhoun County troopers.
Coleman says that next week there will be a special event at the Post in Coldwater. On Wednesday, September 23 at 12 noon, there will be a gathering of State Police retirees from the Post along with community members, to recognize the many years of service the building provided to the public.
Also scheduled to be in attendance is MSP Director Colonel Kriste Kibbey Etue, who at one time in her career was a Post Commander in Coldwater.
