COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Enrollment is on the rise for the Coldwater Community Schools compared to a year ago at this time. That was the word at last night’s Board of Education meeting from Coldwater School Superintendent Terri Boguth. She said the numbers are only preliminary at this point, but at least it can be reported that the enrollment is up in every grade level from fourth grade on with the exception of eleventh grade.
According to Boguth, they’re hopeful of being able to see a nice increase in enrollment when the figures are all settled. Boguth told the school board that they don’t have numbers yet from the Branch Intermediate School District. She explained that since the BISD captures all of the special education FTE’s, it’s difficult to determine right now what the bottom line will look like and Coldwater is still waiting for a preliminary rundown from the Intermediate District.
The Fall Count Day for K-12 student enrollment in Michigan public schools is a week from tomorrow on October 7.
