KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) – Detroit has its big auto show. In direct competition in Southwest Michigan….well at least running at the same time, Kalamazoo will be showcasing one of its major industries during Beer Week. Just like the auto show, they will be rolling out new models, featuring the best of what they have to offer, and attracting people from all over the region. There is one big difference. You can take the beer home. You have to leave the cars at Cobo. Renee Newman with Discover Kalamazoo says Beer Week this year includes 300 separate events of varying size and location, all featuring some kind of beer. She says several of the events show you how to pair specific brews with specific foods to get the most out of both. Boatyard Brewing kicked off the week with a new brew and a party last night. Like the auto show it runs through next Sunday the 24th.
