COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An unoccupied two-story home on the east side of Coldwater Lake in Ovid Township was gutted by fire late yesterday afternoon. There were no injuries in the blaze on Wayne Beach Lane off Miller Road in the summer rental owned by Roy Brannon.
The alarm came in to Branch County Central Dispatch at 4:52 p.m. with word that the structure was engulfed in flames. The Lakeland Fire Department said it had the blaze under control by 5:30 p.m. They were on scene for more than 2 hours.
Lakeland Fire Chief Paul Searing said a Michigan State Fire Marshall investigator is scheduled to examine the scene tomorrow in an effort to figure out the cause of the blaze.
