OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Shady Oaks home in Branch County’s Ovid Township was damaged in a Monday morning fire.
Lakeland Fire Chief Paul Searing says a grill caught on fire on the patio of the home at 510 Hickory.
The fire spread to the home but the homeowner and a neighbor managed to get most of the flames out before Lakeland firefighters arrived.
Searing says the homeowner suffered burns to his hands as he tried to put the fire out.
A dollar estimate on the damage was unavailable.
