STARKVILLE, MS (WTVB) – Not a good weekend for Sparty. The Michigan State women’s basketball was beaten by Mississippi State 74-72 in the second round of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament on the Bulldogs home court.
The Spartans had a chance to tie the game but missed two close shots. During a scramble for a loose ball, television replays showed Mississippi State’s Kayla Nevitt stepped out of bounds with the ball. But there was no call and the Spartans season ended.
