COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Commissioners made appointments to the Mental Health and Airport Boards during a mostly routine 20 minute meeting on Tuesday.
Appointed to the Mental Health Board were Karl Duda, Maureen Hutchinson, Robert Montgomery and Tricia Rzepka. Their terms will expire in March of 2019.
Meanwhile, John C. Van Dam of Bronson was named to fill a vacancy on the Airport Board. The term will run through December of 2017.
Van Dam is a retired teacher and coach who has been a private pilot for 46 years.
Commissioners accepted the resignation of Stacey Hapner from the Veterans Affairs Board after Hapner was recently employed by the Branch County Veterans Affairs Office.
In other business, the Commissioners approved a bid of over $14,000 for a new security scanner at the Courthouse.
They also voted 3-1 in favor of a nearly $6,400 budget transfer to increase the District Health Appropriation. Dale Swift cast the only no vote.
A resolution was approved which gives the Branch County Parks Board permission to submit a grant application of just over $84,000 for the expansion of Angel Cove Park. The Branch County Park Trustees have made a financial commitment of $29,700 in matching funds during the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
