COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two doctors have contributed enough money so that the Branch County Commission on Aging could buy what officials are calling a much needed minivan to transport Branch County seniors through its Medical Transportation Program.
The Commission has been raising funds for the last two years.
Doctors Yanni Chen and Richard Hartman from the Family Practice and Orthopedic Care Center helped make the purchase of the van possible.
The program offers rides to doctor appointments for any Branch County resident over the age of 60. It is funded through state and federal grants as well as local county millage funds and donations. The van travels as far away as Fort Wayne and Lansing.
The Commission on Aging is also looking for volunteer drivers. If you would like to help out, call 279-6565.
