EDWARDSBURG, MI (WTVB) – They are cleaning up in Edwardsburg this Easter weekend after a twister hit just outside of town on Thursday.
The National Weather Service confirmed it was an EF-0 tornado after examining the damage pattern on Friday. They estimate peak winds reached 75 miles per hour.
The storm knocked down trees, seriously damaged a barn and damaged a dozen homes and a church about a mile outside of the community.
Wind storms to the south and snow storms to the north mean that for many in Michigan this Easter weekend, there will be downhill skiing.
Many northern resorts are open this weekend trying to make up for the slow start to the skiing season this winter.
