STEUBEN COUNTY, IN (WTVB) – A Fort Wayne man was arrested Tuesday morning on I-69 near Angola after he allegedly pointed a gun at another vehicle as it passed him in an apparent road rage incident.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says they were told the incident happened on the northbound side of the interstate near Ashley, Indiana just before 9:00 a.m. The suspect vehicle was stopped about two miles north of U.S. 20. Deputies say they found a loaded .45 caliber handgun in the drivers compartment.
74-year-old Harold Burgess was booked at the Steuben County Jail on initial felony charges of pointing a firearm and intimidation with a deadly weapon.
Police from Ashley and Angola as well as the Indiana Department of Natural Resources assisted the Sheriff’s Department.
