GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WTVB) – A new video has been released and a new Facebook page to update everyone on the progress being made by Abigail Kopf of Battle Creek, one of two survivors of February’s mass shooting in Kalamazoo.
The new video shows her walking on her own, smiling and generally getting better, which is a lot of progress, considering she was declared dead on the night of the shooting, just six weeks ago.
Her Mother tells NBC that despite suffering a brain injury, and still needing surgery to replace part of her skull, the 14-year-old continues to recover faster than anyone anticipated.
The Harper Creek Middle School student is undergoing therapy at Mary Free Bed in Grand Rapids.
