COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater and the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) have announced their return to Operation Green Light, a national campaign dedicated to honoring veterans.
Running from November 4 to 11, the initiative encourages residents, businesses, and organizations to illuminate their properties in green as a visible symbol of gratitude and support for those who served.
As part of the city’s official participation, both City Hall and the prominent Monroe Street sign will be lit green throughout the week.
The city has also partnered with Jefferson Elementary School, supplying green bulbs to incorporate students and families into the upcoming veterans recognition events.
Free green LED light bulbs to residents at City Hall while supplies last.
The giveaway was made possible through a local partnership with Home Depot of Coldwater, which assisted in securing this year’s supplies.
Community Engagement and Marketing Manager Leilani Casteele emphasized the city’s pride in continuing the tradition, encouraging participants to share photos of their greenlit homes and businesses on social media to spread awareness.
Organized nationally by the National Association of Counties, Operation Green Light aims to ensure that transitioning service members and local veterans feel supported and seen by their communities.
